Review: The Spa at Eastwood

A Day of Pampering and Having a Me Time at The Spa

I have a 9 to 7 job as a web content writer at a prominent SEO company here in Metro Manila. Although I live alone in the city, I still need to wake up very early to make breakfast and do the laundry. At night, I go out of the office around 8 to 9 PM, grab dinner and then go home.

On weekends, I visit my family in Taytay, which is kind of a long way from the city. There, I spend my rest days helping with our small business because my parents don’t want to hire more help.

As you can see, my weekly routine leaves me little to no time to relax – to have some “me” time. Thankfully, there are spa facilities that can pamper us for a whole day or just a few hours. One of the most popular spas in Metro Manila is The Spa.

I’m not the type of person to splurge on pampering, not even on makeup. But after months of neglecting stress and the never-ending body aches, my body started complaining. I was getting too sickly.

So when I read about The Spa from one of the fashion blogs I follow, I knew I had to go to their branch in Eastwood. After all, I owe it to myself to take care of my health and wellbeing. So I booked a session with them the following weekend.

The Establishment

The Spa at Eastwood is conveniently located inside Richmonde Hotel. As I stepped inside their facility, I felt like I was someone rich and famous and getting the first-class treatment I deserve. The smell of the place was heavenly, almost too relaxing.

The Spa’s interior is all white with a minimalist or Grecian appeal, made me feel like a Greek goddess. It was minimally decorated but exudes elegance and sophistication, which can make every client feel extremely comfortable as if they have checked into some five-star hotel. Their toilets are spotless.

Most importantly, The Spa in Eastwood is quite well-equipped – from the soft massage bed I got for myself to the modern Jacuzzi you could dip into before a soothing massage. That was the first time I ever set foot in a posh spa center, and I was totally awed.

The Total Pampering Experience

Their staff members are really very accommodating and professional. I got to The Spa around 2:00PM and didn’t wait too long before someone assisted me. I didn’t know what I would get since I was used to just getting a massage. They asked me a few questions and suggested I take advantage of their “Refreshing Start” package.

It was inclusive of Aroma Facial or Aroma Scalp and Shoulder Massage, a choice of Classic Massage and a choice of Foot Care. All for a reasonable price of Php3,200 for the suite/villa package. The head-to-toe treatment will take two hours and 45 minutes. I thought to myself, “I’m really going to have the best 2 hours and 45 minutes of my life.”

I was then ushered to my premiere suite, which had a shower/steam room, bathroom and Jacuzzi. Before the massage, I was given a cup of hot ginger tea and a mug of cold water. After finishing my tea, I dipped into the Jacuzzi. As I soaked my tired body into the hot bubbly water, I could feel all the tension wash away.

After a few relaxing minutes (I almost fell asleep), I changed into a fluffy white robe and called for the staff to start my pampering treatment.

First was the facial. The assistant assigned to me gently scrubbed, cleansed, toned, moisturized and steamed my face. She even priced and removed my blackheads and whiteheads, which made me very shy because I have lots. She then massaged my face using a water lily scented cream that felt revitalizing. A masseuse then worked on my back. I opted for their Swedish massage (because I heard it was that good) and I was completely satisfied. Then, another masseuse went on to scrub and massage my feet.

After the massage and facial were finished I dozed off to dreamland for almost an hour. I woke up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and like a new person. The money I spent for this once-in-a-blue-moon experience is definitely worth it all.

My Thoughts and Feelings

Stress can affect our health. This is why it’s very important that we take the time to give ourselves a chance to relax. And I think there’s no better way to spend some “me” time than with a soothing and revitalizing spa package from The Spa in Eastwood.

I’ll be sure to come back soon and bring my parents (who work so hard) with me.
