Acupuncture as medicine

“ACUPUNCTURE: THE TIME HONOURED-HEALER”

Has anybody heard what Acupuncture is?

Well, for the Chinese folks it awakens aching and tired nerves. It can ultimately rejuvenate any imbalances which were caused by environmental, emotional, and even physical aspects of humanity.

As for us humans, we cannot deny the fact that there is no such thing as “invulnerable soul” because our brain is always transmitting unusual channels of feelings that can build us or even tear us apart and as a result, our life energy becomes blocked and the perfect relationship that our body has with it’s components will eventually get damaged.

Imagine your heart says that it no longer wants to deliver oxygen to your brain because of the intense pressure and great depression that it feels?

If our body fails to maintain harmony, balance and order, surely wide range of diseases will work it’s way up to deteriorate our health but thanks to the overwhelming benefits of those therapeutic needles, we can now just lay back and reassure ourselves for a miraculous relief that acupuncture can offer.

Would you mind if we’ll go back in time where acupuncture has existed?

Acupuncture is a time-honoured medicine not just for Chinese but for people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds. It has built its name after delivering satisfactory healing results to various kinds of disorders.

It is now pretty much considered as one of the oldest and most long-standing health care system in the world. No wonder, acupuncture is a medical term nowadays for comfort seekers.

Who would have thought that the practice of acupuncture began during the Stone Age when stone knives or sharp edged tools, described by the character 'Bian', were used to puncture and drain abscesses? In fact, the Chinese character 'Bian' means the 'use of a sharp edged stone to treat disease', and the modern Chinese character 'Bi', representing a disease of pain, is almost certainly derived from the use of 'Bian stones' for the treatment of painful complaints. Acupuncture is indeed a relevant history of mankind where you can find yourself grasping relaxation and calmness from within.

As a natural form of healing, acupuncture has the following benefits:

-       provides drug-free pain relief
-       effectively treats a wide range of acute and chronic ailments
-       treats the underlying cause of disease and illness as well as the symptoms
-       provides an holistic approach to the treatment of disease and illness, linking body, mind and emotions
-       Assists in the prevention against disease and illness as well as the maintenance of general well-being.

Through 350 acupuncture points in the body, these meridians and energy flows may be accessed. Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces. If needles are inserted into these points with appropriate combinations it is said that the energy flow can be brought back into proper balance---EXPERIENCE ACUPUNCTURE, EMBRACE WELLNESS.

Acupuncture and Massage at Yellow Emperor

Last week I experienced suffering from a stiff neck. I suspect that I got this from stress plus there was a night that I was not in a good sleeping position. So I woke up pain feeling that pain.

The first thing I did was to ask advice from an acupuncturist (Yellow Emperor) and scheduled a session that day.

It was Thursday, my first session. I had a moxibustion, massage focusing on the painful part and acupuncture.

The pain was not removed right ahead but I had a great relief.

I had another session on Saturday night but only for acupuncture.  I had a good night sleep after.

As observed, I woke up on Sunday with no pain at all.

Massage and acupuncture can really give a different kind of healing. It cannot be attained overnight but the real effect is long term.

It has a lot benefits to the immune system and other parts of the body.

If you feel a different pain and you can't explain why you may visit Yellow Emperor healing center.

The integrative benefits of healing through massage and acupuncture

The body’s health and wellness is maintained not just through physically taking care of it, but also through means that restore your inner energy balance. Making sure your energy flow – or what is called “chi” in traditional Chinese medicine – is maintained and sustained is part of a holistic health care for both mind and body.

Yellow Emperor Healing Center offers integrative approaches in healing through acupuncture and. It starts with addressing the physical health of a patient so that the mental and emotional well being follow suit.

For as long as these dimensions of a person are well taken care of, the body will naturally heal and sustain itself.

Through massage and acupuncture, the Center addresses the personal health status of a patient and complements these traditional methods with healing sciences to come up with the perfect response to find the body’s natural healing response.

How massage heals

Massage is primarily used for relaxation, but it has more health benefits than just soothing tired muscles. ¬It helps ease postural stress taken by the body, typically due to excessive strains to some parts of the body.

Office workers who spend a lot of time sitting down at a desk and in front of a computer, for example, often put unnecessary strain on their lower backs, glutes and neck. Massage can help counteract the straining effects of these activities and helps restore proper blood circulation.

Massage also helps soothe depression and excessive anxiety. A study done in the U.S. found that the healing touch in a massage helped depressed patients significantly reduce their stress levels.

It was also proven that massages can imrpove immunity, as it helps boost white blood cell count, which is integral in the body’s defense against diseases.

Preventing ailments with acupuncture

Acupuncture, a traditional healing method from Chinese medicine, also has its own medical benefits. It uses thin needles inserted into points of the body that target specific pains in parts of the body.

Like massage, it also helps in reducing pain and relieving stress. It targets the body’s different pathways and helps heal orthopedic, respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders, when paired alongside other scientific methods of healing.

Most importantly, it provides a patient with a good night’s sleep, as it helps provide restful nights with its natural relaxing and healing effects. A good rest, more than anything else, helps with the body’s natural way of restoring and healing itself.

Both these health care services are available at Yellow Emperor Healing Center, a natural healing environment that takes care of a patient’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Acupuncture has been a staple in Chinese medicine for almost 5,000 years. Although it is purely oriental, acupuncture is now used in various Western communities. They believe that such medical therapy leads a healthier and more meaningful life. It is based on the concept that vital energy known as “qi” or "chi" flows like a river through the body along certain pathways or meridians.

However, the flow of energy can sometimes be interrupted and this disruption can lead to a series of illnesses.

Using thin needles, acupuncturists try to balance this energy, help heal the body from any illnesses, and promote general health. The ultimate goal of acupuncture is to ensure healthy body function through the restoration of the natural circulation of energy.

Here are five more ways that acupuncture can bring a positive impact in your life:

·       It relieves pain and stress

Other research does suggest that acupuncture is effective in relieving pain and reducing stress. It mellows out the nervous system, letting us feel less affected and equipped to manage stress. In addition, medical specialists notice an improved mental clarity after acupuncture. They feel more motivated, resolute, and are able to make decisions faster.

·       It helps heal certain diseases and disorders

Western medical professionals have indicated that acupuncture is effective in treating certain conditions, such as respiratory diseases, orthopedic diseases, and other gastrointestinal disorders. Different acute and chronic conditions are healed worldwide because of thin needles injected in various pathways.

·       It cures illnesses naturally
The advancement of technology made almost everyone a fan of all things fast and instant. We crave for shiny tools, pills, and IVs that promise to make us better and healthier. Besides creating chronic impatience, technology pushes us to indulge secretly in medicines that could cure us quickly without realizing the future harm it may inflict to our kidneys.

·       It can grant you a goodnight sleep

Insomnia is one of the most common complaints of those who live a stressful life. Good thing acupuncture has a tendency to grant us more relaxed and restful nights. Acupuncture can widen your awareness of the things that can influence your physical and emotional health.

·       It provides a different insight about food

Whether you are bound or free of any restrictions, acupuncture provides an interesting outlook to your food choices. In acupuncture, foods are often categorized in relation to temperature. Due to root imbalances, some people need warm foods while others are required to take foods that are cool.

Acupuncturists do not mean to shun external interventions such as pharmaceuticals or surgery. These are life-saving measures that should not be replaced by acupunctures alone.

By using acupuncture, we can now help ourselves boost our own physical and emotional health.
