NEW SPA IN MAKATI: GRIT SPA CORPORATION

Welcome back to my blog. It's been a long time since the last time hehe but anyway here is a new spa that I recommend. Go ako ngayong may time. And time to relax na rin.

GRIT SPA CORPORATION

Unit G4-B Makati Cinema Square, Pasong Tamo, Makati City, Philippines

Magandang business strategy! Japanese ang may-ari.

Nag-open siya this October 1, 2022 and ang operating hours nya ay Opening Hours / 2:00PM - 4:00AM (Last call 3:30)

Kapag peak hours or let's say weekends madaming client, so kailangan mo magpareserve.

Ganito procedure nila.

Pili ka ng massage: Options nila:

DRY or OIL

Organized, sabagay Japanese may-ari eh.

May isang unan at dalawang towel pantakip.

350 pesos

Not bad. Legit na masahe nakaka relax.

Tips:

1. Contact Grit Spa first before coming para makapag pareserve ka

3. Maraming new arrivals sa ukay-ukay ng Makati Cinema Square tuwing weekend. More than five stores ang ukay dun.

Okay see you on the next spa.

Spada Cubao Long Time Ago

Another chance brought me to Spada Cubao because I have a gay friend who reads my blog and wants to know if he can choose male therapists here. His objective is to choose a cute guy to give him a satisfying massage. I suggested him to try FHM or Linggam.

I haven't been here for a long time....We came from a party.

He got a female therapist, and my other friend got a male one.

He had a female bit old therapist, with my first time it's Akiko, 30+ medium rare. She is a negative vibes. I didn't feel any welcome and accommodation on her. She gives a good strike at first but later on her massage becomes lazy. If you happen to caught Akiko as your therapist change her immediately.

As always SPADA never fails to give a happy ending. For the amount of 500 pesos you get an HJ for a good extra service.

SPADA is a wellness center for men an women and operates 24/7. Located at P. Tuazon Avenue besides Unioil gas station and near Ali Mall.

Red is the color of SPADA. The therapists are sitting around watching TV and they will make you feel welcome at really at home.

I smiled upon checking their menu. They've got FHM (For Him Massage) and LINGGAM massage (their specialty). So I asked what kind of massage are they?

FHM is a sensual whole body massage and a little bit of the genital parts, it costs 550 pesos for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Linggam is a more sensual body massage and focus on the genital parts, it costs 900 pesos for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The cheapest massage that they offer is the Spada massage. It is an ordinary massage like other spa have, it costs 350 pesos good for one hour.

I choose to have the cheapest massage but in my mind I'd also like to try FHM and Linggam.

The Verdict of my friend:

Ratings: 3/5
Lobby Area: Feel at home

CR: dirty and dark
Shower: ok lang not bad

Massage Room: bad area, you get a stiif neck lying on the floor
Bed: no hole nasa sahig lang
Linen: bad smell
Towel: ang tigas at ang gaspang
Robe: pwede na
Therapist: worth the pay

Hot Towel:      Yes
Dry Sauna:     None
Parking:     Yes it can accomodate 4 cars
Home Service:     Yes even hotel services
Free Wi-Fi:     Yes
Socket: None
Masseur Type:     Male & Female
Signature:     Spada, FHM, Linggam
Extra Service: yes
Extra Service:  Yes

My Experience: Just OK

What Matters Most in a Massage Session

Long hard days of work, routine schedules, and stress-filled lives can no doubt push our bodies to our limit and make us yearn for our own relaxation time. One increasing popular industry is the spa and massage centers which can be found now in practically any city. In that case, how will you choose which would be the best place to get a massage and how can you get the most out of it? Both questions hold one answer: communication.
Communication matters in a massage session. A committed massage therapist must be able to communicate well with a client and produce a calm atmosphere where clients become comfortable in voicing their needs. It is the key to creating a favorable relationship between the therapist and the client.

Right from the moment you book an appointment, communication with the client must be established. Most clients time their appointments meticulously – others like having a massage before the start of the day to freshen them up while others prefer having their stress relieved at the end of a long night. Remember, no one knows you body more than you and that is why massage therapists must be able to accommodate clients in their preferred schedule as much as possible or at least, help them find suitable available time for both the client and therapist. In booking appointments, request your preferred massage technique, type, or kind of therapist as well. In that way, the massage centers may be able to find an appropriate massage therapist that can best accommodate your needs.

However, communication does not only happen one-way in which case, you as a client must also voice out your opinions and needs. One such case is telling your massage therapist of your complete medical history, such as medications you are currently taking, and any past or present accidents and injuries. Massage is more than just rubbing your skin for relaxation. For years, it has been thought to have the ability to restore not just your mind but also that of your body’s health. Massage therapy deals with a lot of health conditions such as back pain, spinal cord injury, high blood pressure, and sleep disorders. It also helps them know where to focus to relieve you of your pain and stress, as well as any allergies to possible massage oils that they may be using.

During the session, the comfortable atmosphere between the client and therapist must still be intact for the client to feel like he/she can freely give his/her feedback. Don’t be afraid in voicing out concerns whether it be the temperature or lighting of the environment. Other centers would be playing music, if you prefer other kinds of music or if you like having a massage quietly, make sure to tell your therapist. Giving feedbacks regarding the amount of pressure and speed of the hand movements is also very important.

Don’t be afraid to tell your concerns because as professional massage therapists, their job is to make you feel comfortable as much as possible. Lastly, communication is the best way to express your gratitude to your therapists. It would make their day just hearing a thank you from their clients knowing they have done their job to help you with your pain and stress.

D' Aviary in Cebu

In my recent travel to Cebu, I discovered this spa called D' Aviary. The spa has two branches. In D' Aviary Causing Feria Building, Jones Avenue, Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City, Cebu and in G & A Bldg., N. Escario St., Cebu City.

As we roam around Cebu we landed here and we did bird watching.

We can attest that this spa has very well trained therapists, the rooms are wide enough and the ambient is nice.

Majority of the therapists are male. My friend recommends the male therapist Garnet. He says he was satisfied with the massage and very happy with the ending.

Only few female therapists but its worthy.

Mine was Quail, the massage was really good, she was very polite and a good follower. Not bad.

There you go with the good side. The only concern here is because its too far from the airport area.

Well, its because its near the circle.

The rates of massage is 300, but they also have 500 and up.

Contact numbers:
Branch 1: (032)417-4884, (032)253-4494
Branch 2: (032)416-8908

R2 Buds in Tomas Morato

It was a very stressful day since the traffic is so bad. Ang sarap magpa-spa.

Studies show that physical massage can relieve stress and lower depression.

In my experience, a standard massage includes one hour of pure physical contact and a nice banter with an expert massage therapist. If that doesn’t relieve your stress, you’re maybe a robot.

Thanks to R2 Buds for that stress relieving massage. R2Buds is famous for their nail services but they also have a signature massage to try for.

Check out their services:

 Manicure 170
 Pedicure  230

Manicure with special scrub 340
Pedicure with special scrub 460

Their signature massage is a one hour whole body massage over a sitting position in a comfortable massage chair.

I felt really great after because of their skilled massage therapists.

Getting a regular massage is very good to our health as it relieves toxins and stress.

Now that I have found a new spa in Tomas Morato I will definitely go back here.

I wanted to try their services like ear candling and fish spa.

Is Hard Massage good?

Soft or Hard?

'Hard' is the answer of majority to this question. But is Hard Massage really beneficial?

Did you know that it can injure a person's body part.

Massage has major and minor benefits, especially pleasure and relaxation.

Technically Hard Massage hurts right?

What do you think?

While many people feels a pleasure in this deep pressure massage there are studies that pain tolerance is bad.

A spa owner in Mandaluyong once told that hard massage gives more stress than relaxation. It is not recommended to give your body a hard painful massage. Even if its a great feeling, the truth is the pain is slowly giving you torture.

Try Angkor Spa in Mandaluyong and tell us about your experience.

Ayu Thai in Bayani Road Taguig

I have been a regular customer of Ayu Thai Spa in Bayani Road Taguig since they started in the business a year ago.

It's just a few steps away from home so its really a perfect place to go after doing my jog and yoga activities on weekends.

I often choose the combination of swedish and shiatsu for only 250 pesos.

Last Sunday, it was my first time to experience the massage of their therapist Jasmine. I thought she was new but she said she has been a year old in this spa along Taguig area.

She puts hard pressure but with control. I felt a little pain at first but as she continues it becomes a little bit lighter. I think that she has the power to feel if the client is feeling pain or not.

When I return to this spa, I will surely look for her.

Ayu Thai Body and Foot Massage is located along Bayani Road Taguig near places are Jollibee, Chowking, Equator and David's Salon.

The best time to go here is in between lunchtime and dinner.

What makes a good massage

We have asked around a group of those who work on and offline what gives them a good massage.

Massage gives heavenly pleasure when you hear these two keywords from them: relax and refresh.

Here's a list of the first few answers we got from male audience:
  • Yung relaxing, di gaano mabigat.
  • You are refreshed after, because there are some that are painful.
  • I don't know, hindi ako laging nagpapamassage eh.
  • Relaxation, comfort, to relieve stress *tip: if you are looking for a massage I recommend Wensha located at Pasay near Moa (via Ramil)
  • Good massage?hmm, if it relaxes your muscles and soothes most of your body pain
  • The sense of touch
  • If a person is tired and stress out. that's the perfect time to do have a massage

Review: Asian Massage Ortigas

A Massage That Calms the Whole Nation
One afternoon I was driving along EDSA with my Ferrari going to my supermodel girlfriend’s house while thinking about my six digit pay check coming by the end of the month.
Okay. I’m kidding. I just made that up. I don’t have a Ferrari. I’m just a 31-year old man who lives with my parents and works at a Filipino news company. Also, my girlfriend is just average (Honey if you’re reading this I’m very sorry. Please don’t leave me).

I’m just so stressed after beating several deadlines. Right now I’m craving for a nice spa treatment from Asian Massage. So, if you’re from Manila like me, who works non-stop just to earn a living, you will want to have a nice massage to reward yourself from hard work.

Asian Massage is a 24-hours spa with home services. They offer massage techniques that can calm the nation down. In fact their massage therapy has a lot of health benefits.

Reflexology and Massage

My friend came over complaining about what happened to him in a spa. He said he was lying face down on the massage table while the therapist is doing weird things to him.

The therapist is pressing different parts of his feet and flexing his body to weird positions. After the session, my ignorant friend felt more relaxed but he just has to complain about the weirdness of the method.

 (Reflexology Points) Source: http://www.reflexologypoints.co.uk

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a health therapy which involves applying pressure on certain areas of the body like the hands, feet and ears. These areas or pressure points are connected to the vital organs of the body. Putting pressure on these areas will help prevent several illnesses, relieves pain, strengthens the immune system and boosts overall health.
Reflexology practitioners believe that reflexology is an alternative cure to several illnesses like depression, diabetes, sinusitis, kidney problems, cardiovascular diseases and sometimes even cancer. However, there is a lack of scientific evidence to support this.
Everyone can receive a reflexology therapy. However, too much pressure might cause uneasiness to some people.

Pressure Points and Meridians
Reflexology hand and foot maps are created to show how a particular pressure point is connected to different organs through the body meridians. Body meridians are pathways inside our bodies where energy flows. For example, in our hands, the fingertips are connected to the head, brain and sinus. While in our feet, the part just above our heels is connected to the small intestine. Applying pressure to these reflex points through human touch improves the energy flow inside our system.
Reflexology and Massage
Just like massage, reflexology relieves stress, reduces depression and helps in better sleep patterns through physical contact. Despite the similarities, they are actually different from each other. Massage stimulates the muscles through stroking, tapping and kneading. Reflexology on the other hand focuses on applying pressure on the reflex points. Pressure is usually applied by reflexologists using their thumb and index finger.
My friend is just one of those who don’t know how effective reflexology is to our health and wellness. Ever since the ancient times, reflexology has healed a lot of people. It is safe, cheap and works wonders to our overall health.

A Sad Face on Happy Endings

I’m not a fan of emoticons on chats or texts. But right now, I think I want to put a sad face on spa happy endings. Happy endings are acts performed by masseuses that give a sexual release. I frown upon happy endings in spas because it creates misconceptions towards legitimate spas, the therapists and frequent spa goers. Now people think that all spas are “spakols”. A “Spakol” is a spa which offers sexual services.
People also think that all therapists are prostitutes and all massage addicts are perverts. In fact, there are two incidents which show the bad effects of these misconceptions.
Here’s an incident of misconceptions. I swear I cannot make this up. This happened for real. A therapist who works at a legitimate spa had a customer who assumes it’s a “spakol”. That customer asked her for something extra but she respectfully declined.
During the heat of the moment, the customer touched himself and asked her to grab his part where the party happens but she said no. Later that night, while on her way home, the creepy customer waited for her at the exit and asked her out. Once again, she declined.
She boarded a bus so she can move away from the horny customer. But while on the road, she looked at the bus window and found the creepy guy trailing her. She was so frightened, luckily nothing bad happened and she reached home safe.
Here’s another case of misconceptions. Recently, a friend from Singapore visited me. After coming from a long trip, she asked me if we could get a massage together. “Sure. In fact, I know a place nearby that offers superb massage” I said. “Oh. Is that a spakol?” she asked with a straight face. I said no of course.
But she asked me again, “Are you sure?” I said no again. Luckily I was able to convince her with the second no. However, our conversation made me wonder do people really think all spas are spakols? Does she really have to ask me twice? I may have a tough guy exterior but I have feelings too. In fact, I felt offended when she asked me if it was a spakol.
I enlightened her and erased her misconceptions about spas when I took her to Sawasdee-Thai-Massage. It’s a legitimate spa which offers top notch massage without sexual services. Their therapists are all professionals.
I’m not saying they are nuns or robots. They are actually fun and friendly. You can talk to them about anything. But they just don’t put themselves on sexual activities while performing work. We had a great time there and we left the place with huge smiles on our faces. It’s definitely recommended for people who want a real massage and relaxation.
I believe spas with happy endings should stop calling themselves spas to avoid misconceptions. Until they do that, I guess the sad face will stay there for awhile.

My Quest in Finding the Best Spa in Metro Manila

The Spa Experience

Most of us are preoccupied with work and other duties that we rarely have a chance to schedule an alone time and pamper ourselves. Needing a few hours of relaxation and an escape out of my busy schedule, I often find myself in a spa, looking forward to a much-needed massage.

However, after postponing my visit for quite some time, I suddenly had the urge to go out and treat myself to the best spa in Manila. A few of my friends are raving about The Spa’s great services so I decided to swing by their place and see for myself what the fuss is about.

When I arrived at around 4 pm, I hurriedly checked on their wide selection of services. I came here for a single purpose – to get a massage in Manila. Instead, I decided to push through with the package, thinking that I truly deserve an entire afternoon of pampering and relaxation. Yes, it was expensive, but it felt amazingly good!

Apparently, the package I chose was supposed to be done in their Premiere Villa, which is to die for! So, I enthusiastically followed the attendant to my villa and enjoyed a full 30-minute sauna and Jacuzzi use while they prep the room.

After which, The Spa Rejuvenation scrub was next on the list. With the villa, sauna, Jacuzzi, plus the scrub, I actually felt that I got the most out of my money’s worth. But we’re not done yet. My most awaited part of the package is up next.

For my massage, I opted to go with a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu. It was by far the best massage in Manila I’ve had.

As I leave the building, I totally feel like a different person. All the stresses of the entire week were totally forgotten and I was eager to welcome the new week with a fresh start. by kabangeles04

How to Choose the Best Spa in Metro Manila

by carpediem
I’m not going to lie; Metro Manila is a very stressful place. The traffic is a nightmare, the streets are always flooded and the pollution is horrible. If you live or work within the area, I’m sure you can testify to that. So if you’re coming from an eight-hour grind in the office, it would be nice to treat yourself with a pampering spa treatment. However, there are numerous choices of spas in the Metro. If you want to narrow your choices, here are the things you should consider.
Price It’s hard to make a living nowadays so it’s important to be practical. You want the spa experience that’s worth the amount you paid. Remember, you’re going to a spa to relieve stress. Don’t punish yourself by paying a stressful amount of money. So pick a spa that’s friendly to your wallet.
Location It’s wise to pick a spa near you. You don’t want to travel too far just to get a massage especially in Manila where traffic is terrible. If you get stuck in the traffic, you’ll just end up more stressed. Also, you want your spa away from a bad neighborhood. You want to be worry-free when getting a massage to experience optimum relaxation.
Facilities The venue must be spacious and properly sanitized. You don’t want your spa to be tight and dirty. The place itself must be a pillar of health and wellness. People visit spas from time to time so make sure that the place is clean to avoid transferring of diseases.
Massage Quality This is perhaps the most important thing to consider when picking the right spa for you. The massage must be relaxing and revitalizing. The therapists must know what they are doing. It is best if the therapist possesses “Magic Hands”. Every stroke must bring pleasure to your body. Also, you don’t want to be massaged in a mechanical manner. It’s awesome if the therapist can give you a massage with more personal feel. Massage builds connection between people. It’s more relaxing if you feel connected to the one massaging you.
Employees’ Attitude All employees must have a pleasing personality. From the security guard to the therapists, they should all be friendly. When going to a spa, as much as possible, you want to avoid any bad vibes. So it will be awesome if all the spa personnel can give a friendly atmosphere.
In short, the best spa in Manila should be cheap, accessible and clean. Also, the massage should be top notch and the employees should be nice. Now you know the things to consider when choosing the best spa, have you picked the ideal spa for you?

Pahulay Spa in MRT Ayala

If there is a cheap 30 minute massage that I would like to recommend, that would be the Pahulay Spa in MRT Ayala. I've been here for a couple of times getting random therapist and they never fail to give satisfaction. The good news is you will never regret getting a massage from anyone of them.

I tried 4-5 different female therapists at Pahulay, it never fails to give a good relaxing 30 minute massage.
I strongly recommend Pahulay to those in a hurry but needs to get a relaxing massage first.

It is also good for those who cannot afford a 300 worth of body massage.

If  given a chance I would put up a business like this and put it in the same location. Pahulay is a strategic business because of the following reasons:

1. Captured market. Every second a person passes by MRT Ayala and will surely see Pahulay Spa.

2.  Ayala is a place for blue collar and white collar workers so there is a sure client everyday.

3. No one will not like to get a cheap massage for the amount of less than 200 pesos.

4. It is near mall areas and food chains

The cheapest massage cost 80 pesos and 150 pesos. You can choose from head massage to foot reflex, from siesta to Pahulay signature massage.

Note: They also have full body massage which is around 300 pesos only.

I have tried and tested their good services here. Not to mention they have friendly and accommodating personnel.

The most recommended therapist to name is Jen, 27 yo from Quezon City. Strictly clean massage only!
